This topic will tell you why some small details should be observed during the game.
Look at the 2 games below: For the first game, black has got the initiative, red wasted few moves by moving the pawn. Black is in advantage. Second game, the 7th pawn moved by red has no immediate/obvious effect now, thus it is considered as "wasted". Morever, once the black rook has occupied a lane, black has a good move, P3+1. Thus, from the above, that is why people should take note about the direction of the cannon. C2.5 and C8.5 has a big impact on the game. -------------------- |
