My name is José Antonio Barros Poblete from Chile and I am a great lover of board logic games like occidental chess, Go, Reversi, Checkers, Chinese checkers etc...
I know very well the rules of profesional chess and they are very close to advanced rules of CXQ, but I don´t understand the rules about perpetual checks and perpetual chasing.
The drawing rules are quiet well made:
By one side we have that a determined number of consecutive dead moves produce a draw, understanding by dead move every move that is not an pawn advance or in which there's no piece capture. A similar rule exists in occidental Chess. I consider the other the other rules about drawing like a part or like an extension of this rules.
An occidental chess's rule that could be considered to use in Xiang Qi is the forced drawing when the same board configuration hapenns more than a determined number of times during the game (2 times in occidental chess). Understanding by board configuration a determined set of pieces in the game each with a determined possition in the board.
Other thing that must be considered is the forcing drawing when both players have a set
of pieces absolutely incapable to make checkmate to the other player.

I will ask to the members of this forumm to expplain me why the rules of perpetual check or perpetual chasing.
